Remote workstations and Laptops can use InTune as well if they have no Domain Controller.<br><br>Your Mileage may vary and this might not be the best practise at time of reading. &#8211; I read the Microsoft guides in Feb 2022 and based all this on them. This has been rolled out at my work and has worked so far correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>PreReqs<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This article applies to Microsoft Edge version 77 or later.<br>To Download the latest version of Edge &#8211; visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/edge\/business\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/edge\/business\/download<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>How to deploy the Edge Policy in ActiveDirectory &#8211; Source&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/deployedge\/configure-microsoft-edge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/deployedge\/configure-microsoft-edge<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Policy template files are downloaded from the website &#8211;\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/edge\/business\/download\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/edge\/business\/download<\/a><br><br>To take advantage of the benefits of .admx files, you must create a Central Store in the sysvol folder on a Windows domain controller.<br>The Central Store is a file location that is checked by the Group Policy tools by default.<br>The Group Policy tools use all .admx files that are in the Central Store. The files that are in the Central Store are replicated to all domain controllers in the domain.<br><br>To use ADMX files in Group Policy the following needs done on the Domain Controller<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On the domain controller<\/strong> &#8211; Copy the\u00a0<strong>PolicyDefinitions<\/strong>\u00a0folder to your SYSVOL PolicyDefinitions Folder<br>Example &#8211; \\\\DOMAINCONTROLLER-NAME\\SYSVOL\\DOMAINNAME.LOCAL\\Policies\\<br><br><strong>Create a Sites.xml &#8211; SiteList<\/strong><br><strong><u>To configure the sites list &#8211; Source :\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/deployedge\/edge-ie-mode-site-list-manager\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/deployedge\/edge-ie-mode-site-list-manager<\/a><\/u><\/strong><br>The Enterprise Site List Manager is an in-browser version of the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/download\/details.aspx?id=49974\" target=\"_blank\">standalone Enterprise Mode Site List Manager tool<\/a>\u00a0that lets you create, edit, and export your organization\u2019s site list.<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/attachments-us1-cloud-deskpro-com.s3.amazonaws.com\/files\/27488\/827\/826396DWJBCZSMPTMYHHD0-1632910162107.png\"><br>Or Edit the XML file manually, very carefully as any mistakes invalidates the list<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Each Entry needs to be in the format :<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0 &lt;site url=&#8221;website-name&#8221;><br>      &lt;compat-mode>Default&lt;\/compat-mode><br>      &lt;open-in>IE11&lt;\/open-in><br>\u00a0 &lt;\/site><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now open up Group Policy Management and Create a new Group Policy Object and Link it to root<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Name this\u00a0<strong>Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode &#8211; Edge<\/strong><br><br><strong><u>Configure the Group Policy &#8211; Source :\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/deployedge\/edge-ie-mode-policies#configure-using-the-configure-the-enterprise-mode-site-list-policy\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/deployedge\/edge-ie-mode-policies#configure-using-the-configure-the-enterprise-mode-site-list-policy<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. \u00a0 \u00a0Click User Configuration\/<strong>Computer Configuration<\/strong>\u00a0> Policies > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Edge.<br>2. \u00a0 \u00a0Double-click &#8216;<strong>Configure Internet Explorer integration<\/strong>.&#8217;<br>3. \u00a0 \u00a0Select Enabled.<br>4. \u00a0 \u00a0Under Options, set the dropdown value to<strong>\u00a0Internet Explorer mode<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Press Apply OK<br>5. \u00a0 \u00a0Double-click\u00a0<strong>Configure the Enterprise Mode Site List<\/strong>.<br>5. \u00a0 \u00a0Select Enabled.<br>6. \u00a0 \u00a0Under Options, type the location of website list. You can use one of the following locations:<br>o \u00a0 \u00a0Set this too your domain share where you copied the sites.xml at the start &#8211; ie.  \\\\DOMAINCONTROLLER-NAME\\SYSVOL\\DOMAINNAME.LOCAL\\Policies\\sites.xml<br>7. \u00a0 \u00a0Click OK or Apply to save these settings.<br>8. \u00a0 \u00a0Double-Click\u00a0<strong>Configure the Enterprise Mode Cloud Site List<\/strong> (Only if you are using a Cloud Site List in Office 365)<br>9. \u00a0 \u00a0Click Not Configured<br>10. \u00a0 \u00a0 Set the List option to your Cloud Site List ID<br>11. \u00a0 \u00a0Double-click\u00a0<strong>Send all intranet sites to Internet Explorer<\/strong><br>12. \u00a0 \u00a0Select Enabled<br>13. \u00a0 \u00a0Click OK or Apply to save these settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Create another group policy and name this\u00a0<strong>Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode &#8211; Trusted Sites<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open the\u00a0<strong>Group Policy &#8211; <strong>Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode &#8211; Trusted Sites<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/li><li>Go to\u00a0<strong>User Configuration<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>> Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components ><\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel > Security Page<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Site to Zone Assignment List<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Select\u00a0<strong>Enabled<\/strong>\u00a0and click\u00a0<strong>Show<\/strong>\u00a0to edit the list. Refer to Figure 1 below. The zone values are as follows: 1 \u2014 intranet, 2 \u2014 trusted sites, 3 \u2014 internet zone, 4 \u2014 restricted sites.<\/li><li>Click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Click\u00a0<strong>Apply<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Test your Policies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a target client device, open Microsoft Edge and navigate to&nbsp;<strong>edge:\/\/policy<\/strong>&nbsp;to see all policies that are applied. If you applied policy settings on the local computer, policies should appear immediately.
